the headquarters of Boi Famosao de Sao Joao<\/em> which is celebrating its 30th year. The boi<\/em> (ox) of a traditional group is usually 3-4 feet long and \u201cdanced\u201d by one person called a miolo<\/em>. Boi Famos\u00e3o<\/em> is so large that it takes over a dozen miolos<\/em> to animate it.<\/p>\n\n\n\nA week later we saw the group perform at the Maria Arag\u00e3o venue in S\u00e3o Luis.
